Cold and Wet Goulburn Tour

JC riders were out in force at the Goulburn Two Day Junior Tour over the weekend. Stages 1 and 2 were held in Breadalbane on day 1 followed by stages 3 & 4 in Gunning. Each day’s racing was spent on the little used Cullerin Rd which connects the towns, making it suitable for young riders to develop their skills.

The biggest challenge was the weather with lows of -1 degrees. There was a lot of hot noodles and hot chocolate flowing to keep the kids going.

At the time of writing, the U9, U11, and U13 results had not been posted. Sophie claimed 3rd in both the Prologue & Road Race on day 1, followed by second in both the Time Trial and Road Race on day 2, resulting in a second place for the JW15B General Classification.

Highlights included strong efforts from sprinter Georgia Bonora who finished closer to the pack than ever before. -It wont be long before riders are nervous about her presence in the pack at the end of a race. Good work Georgia.

Flynn and Remi entered their first ever road race in the JB13 category. Both boys performed well against some kids who have been racing and touring half their lives.
