JC Riders Descend on Wagga

We had ten JC riders representing three clubs across six categories at Wagga on the weekend. Stages 1, 3 and 4 were held in the quiet countryside of Wantabadgery, while Stage 2 was held in Wagga on a relatively tight go-kart circuit.

Julia flew the flag in the combined U9 event, but never really warmed up even after racing had finished. The temperature on Saturday hit a low of 0.9 degrees and on Sunday hit the subzero mark at -1.1 degrees.

Amogh raced his first ever tour as a JB11 and performed very well taking 7th in the general classification. His riding was very impressive. I’m looking forward to seeing how he performs after a year of touring under his belt.

Flynn and Remi didn’t have much luck the JB13 stage 1. Remi found his groove in the hills of stage 3 and Flynn proved he can mix it with the rest in the Individual Time Trial.

Both JG13 girls Alexandra and Georgia performed very well in a close field. -Stage 1 saw the first 10 riders cross the line within 31 seconds of each other in a race that took more than half an hour to complete.

First year under U15 riders including Lana Reiter, Sophie Pappas, Jonathan Bonora and William Kirkham all had to step up to a hilly 30km circuit. All four riders managed to come home safely after enduring climbs of up to 13% in some sections. Great work guys!
