Sunday Funday

Firstly, a happy Mother’s Day to all Mums out there, I hope your budding cyclists all showed their appreciation for all your support and help today.

This week was a Sunday Funday and we welcomed Bryn (racing for the first time ever), his sister Freya and Zane. It was quite an afternoon with the weather. There was a strong wind blowing as a head wing to the finish line so only Ollie did a faster time than last week in the time trial. Zane was the fastest rider today, just seconds ahead of Kristie and Freya.

In the combined E/D division Lauren held off a fast finishing Joshua. Bryn held off Ollie at the line in the C Division race. Ollie was distracted by the call to hold the line to fast finish. A & B raced together with B grade getting a head start, Aiden and Jemma held on the A graders who caught them on the 1st lap, there was a little bit of controversy as not all racers heard the bell for the final lap, resulting a procession into the finish rather that the expected Sprint. Zane took the race as he had heard the bell.

We ran shorter handicap races to beat the threat of the rain that was showing on the radar, Liam won the slow handicap race from Joshua who is very tenacious at holding a lead in second and Gracie in third. In the fast handicap Kristie powered around the course finishing ahead of Freya and Zane who was the scratch racer.

Zane was awarded Rider of the day.

Thank you to all racers, see you next Sunday for Round 2 in the pointscore at Lansdown.
